There are many initiatives for startups and Makers in India from an entrepreneurship and business point view. However, nothing much from the point of view of celebrating the Maker Culture, Products and Product Development.
This is where MakeInGoa comes in.
M.I.G is a festival for Makers, Creators and Entrepreneurs. M.I.G promotes hands-on maker culture, and celebrates MAKERS and their PRODUCTS. The aim is to help make things better through design and inspire more people and the student generations to start Making things
At the festival, all this below is what you can expect:
There will be dozens “Maker Participant Stalls” who will be provided with various kinds of interventions to help Product Development and Product Promotion.
Importantly, there will also be many “Retail Pop-up + F&B Participant Stalls”.
All this action will be like a big, happy, pop-up market.
There are 3 levels of “Maker” competitions:
These will have big prizes and Rolling Trophies for State and National level champions as well.
There will always be many attractions like:
Make in Goa NEEDS You to ENGAGE.
You could do that as any one or many of these 4 Roles
You are very important and your engagement with Makers will help boost maker culture over time.
If you are a maker, then do take a Maker Participation stall,
Or, you could take a retail stall for selling Products or F&B.
There will be workshops for all age groups. The final list will be put up in the workshop section.
There are Maker competitions to take part in. Don’t miss it, the prizes are worth it, and the “Maker Champion Title” is priceless
Maker Participation Stalls
To take these stalls, you have to be a Maker based out of Goa. But even If you are trading (buying and selling), then also you could take a retail or F&B stall (but not a maker participant stall). For Maker Participation Stalls you need to fit in one of the roles below.
Anyone who is a designer, engineer, sculptor or who has a product at the core of their activity.
Or, a person working with 2-d output as a photographer, artist, communication/graphic designer
Or, a startup with a product, or
even company that’s launching new products
Or, if you’re an education institution like a school or college or an alternate education related business
MakeInGoa is for Goans and people who call Goa their home.
Goa is best suited for this kind of maker festival because it has communities that work with their hands, and importantly, it is a natural magnet for creative people to settle from all over the country as well as the world.
There’s a LOT for you and all this is at a very nominal cost
At M.I.G festivals, you will get a stall from where you can showcase and even sell your products.
These stalls will be at a minimal cost for all the Maker Participants
