T&Cs will constantly be updated and before committing to engage in any way, pl do go through these.

The Layout and Programming is subject to Change till the last minute, but any change that affects your booking directly will be intimated to you once one you have booked and made your payment (as a participant).

If you’re a visitor or Workshop attendee or a Competitor, you will be required to keep yourself updated for the programming and timing etc via the website. Once again, any change that affects your booking directly will be intimated to you once one you have booked and made your payment.

Maker Participants Stalls will be marked MPS:

1. These are Tent-type Stalls or Exhibition type, it will be mentioned in the layout:
2. Dimensions: Ranging between 10ft x10ft and 8ft x 8ft (depends on vendors stock which also depends on the number of events on the day).
3. 2 Tables each: 6ft x 2ft, pleated white table covers.
4. 3 chairs with covers.
5. 1 CFL bulb (more can be ordered separately)
6. 1 plug point (more can be ordered separately)
7. 1 pedestal fan (if venue is not AC)
8. Banner of stall name with event branding.

Other Important Notes:

1. Unless with managements permission, sale of food or beverage items other than bottled / packed stuff will not be allowed at participant stalls. Those can be done only from the F&B stalls.
2. Cost of Add-ons:
   • Extra table with cover: Rs. 200/-
   • Extra chair with cover: Rs. 50/-
   • Extra plug point: Rs. 350/-
   • Extra fan: Rs.400/-
   • Requirement of extra items has to be informed 5 days prior to the event.
3. In a tent type stall, if a poster or panel needs to be displayed and you need a hard surface, then a vertical 6×4 ft white panel can be provided at Rs.500/- extra. You may not drill holes in this, but you can stick using double sided tapes of glue drops etc to prop up the panel/poster.
4. The prices indicated for all of the above extras and all the tents etc are ALL HIRE prices only for the duration of the Event. None of these elements can be taken away from the premises.
5. If any of these hired items fail, we will try and replace it as soon as possible.
6. In case of heavy rainfall or any such natural calamity 12 hours prior to set up time (1pm) on the event day: the event could be postponed to another day, and if you’d like to cancel your participation then 50% amount paid or deposited, would be deducted.
7. In case of heavy rainfall or any such natural calamity on the day, such that the stalls/tables have to be shut down/removed:
   1. Before 9pm: 30% refund.
   2. After 9pm: No refund.

Dos and Donts:

1. If your’e selling products, all items should be clearly priced, preferably with price tags.
2. Display all items efficiently. Clothing should be hung on racks or neatly folded. Racks will NOT be provided. They have to be sourced by each individual. We recommend you to book a tent stall if you would like to display items on a rack. Alternatively, you could request for a 4x2ft table (same price) instead of a 6x2ft table in order to accommodate a rack.
3. Reporting time on the event day will be 4-2 hours before the scheduled opening of the event, the time range depends on the amount of products on display you have.
4. The set-up work within your stall should get over 2 hours before the opening.
5. Prarticipant get identity cards: Full stall will get 3 , shared stall 2 and tables 1 each.
6. Provide carry bags, pouches or boxes for when you sell your products. Please DO NOT use plastic bags.
7. Please keep your stall clean and tidy at all times. Use the dustbins around the premises for any waste generated.
8. Please always keep an eye on your wares before, during and after the event. Your wares are your responsibility.
9. Kindly do not to leave your wares at the venue overnight.

Suggestions:

1. Invite a minimum of ten friends to the event, more the merrier
2. Carry lots of business cards for networking and future orders

NOTES for Participants:

1. This is the first event of this sort which attempts to help products from a design and feedback perspective. So everyone will be new to this, it includes you, me, us and the visitors who come for it. Be patient and be constructive. The fact that you are part of this, means that you believe in the idea, and we whole heartedly do so too. We will build it together year.
2. Make sure you don’t miss the inauguration, we will always do something innovative for the ribbon cutting.
3. As a maker, i personally feel that talking about the product to an audience and asking them for their reactions is a tough thing. But its an important thing because as a maker who hopes to make things usable, or for production, the user is very important.
4. Please do take this opportunity to interact with public. If you are up to it, take centre-stage and talk about the product. Otherwise we will anyway help you prepare a 2 minute presentation or video or ad to show, we will have a projector and screen.
5. The time limit for the video / presentation part is 2 minutes after which there will be an alarm.
6. You could leave the audience with a question and tell them to meet you at your stall incase they have a suggestion / feedback you are looking for.
7. So total 2-3 mins and then the next video or person comes up.
8. Give them a big thanks if someone criticises you. Not all feedback will be positive. Please know, your product doesn’t change because of negative feedback, just take it in the right spirit. Know that your product can improve if the negative feedback has some substance. And that opportunity will never happen, till you take the feedback in the first place.
9. Try to get people to talk about a product, beyond “i like it or i don’t like it”. Thats a personal and semi-pointless opinion. Don’t feel bad if someone doesn’t like it. Ask WHY they don’t like it. If you can get people to substantiate their thoughts, that is when feedback becomes qualitative.
10. Make sure you meet all the other makers and give ideas, share ideas, ask for suggestions.
11. The “experienced group of designers and engineers” will be wearing a badge with their names and relevant backgrounds hung from their necks. Ask them to come over and discuss your product with them for feedback. Most importantly, share the issue areas if you have any in the product, range, development etc. You MIGHT get a good suggestion, and might not. Maybe the problem requires much deeper working on it, and maybe the professional can suggest someone who you later hire services of.
12. Remember, they are all experienced professionals but no-one can solve all problems. The idea is to tap their vast experience to try and solve problems through feedback.
13. If you have a product that can be put in the gallery, make sure you meet Sandra and discuss with her. It will be nice for people to go to the gallery and see an amazing assortment of makers and products born in Goa. Will take photos from you of your products or shoot it in the gallery to upload it on the website where it will be featured for 4-6 months at least.
14. Please do call friends and families to the event, and make sure the stalls are open till 10:30pm.

Note to everyone attending the Festivals and the related events/activities:

We would shoot photos and videos at all times to document the event and use the footage for promotions. It will be our endeavor that none of the pictures will be in bad taste or showing someone in a manner that can be objectionable. However, incase you do see any picture or video later that you feel strongly against, where you/your ward is a part of the video, do bring it to our notice and if required we will pull it off circulation (though what is already out in the public cant be brought back).

Media Conference on 13th Jan: All the south Goa and Goa state Newspapers and TV News Channels were briefed and given a press kit. This led to multiple News Releases and Listings leading up to the event (more than 16).

Media Coverage at the Festival: Te festival was covered and news releases featured post the event (more than 5).

goa.me: Our online media partner to promote the event on their site along with preferential placement of our event.

Social Media / Paid Advertising: Done on Facebook using an events page as the base and now there will be a dedicated Brand Page on FB and Insta.

WhatsApp: Through Whatsapp groups.

d’Art of Science already has a subscriber base of 67,000+ on YT and 8000+ followers on FB, therefore traction on social media is already high.

Fliers and Posters: There were more than 8,000 fliers in newspapers and 50 posters at key locations all across Margao, Benaulim, Colva etc.

Schools and Colleges: Almost all the schools and colleges in Goa will hear about the event through the Student Level Maker Competition which will also be promoted in partnership with Goa State Innovation Council.
